Specialization in oral and maxillofacial surgery requires four to six additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia residency training after graduation from dental school. Dr. Pollaccia, as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, manages a wide variety of problems of the soft tissues and bones relating to the teeth, mouth, jaw and facial regions. Dr. Pollaccia practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise in bone grafting, dental implant surgery, wisdom teeth removal, oral reconstruction and oral pathology. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. Dr. Pollaccia can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.

Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) sedation and outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art facility. During sedation patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery until safely discharged by the doctor.

Surgical Staff

The surgical staff at Peoria Oral & Implant Surgery are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who assist in the administration of IV sedation and surgery. Dr. Pollaccia maintains that all his surgical staff complete yearly continuous education and have or are undergoing DAANCE (advanced anesthesia) certification as well as being CPR certified.
