Meet Dr. Pollaccia

Dr. Pollaccia or “Dr. P” grew up in Southern California where he was quite active in extreme sports, often spending a good amount of time at the doctors’ office, having a broken bone repaired or getting a few stitches. This is where he developed a passion for healthcare, and dedicated himself to the long and arduous journey of becoming an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. Dr. Pollaccia obtained his undergraduate degree in Physiology and Neuroscience from the University of California San Diego, followed by his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, DC. Graduating with honors, he continued his extensive post-doctoral training at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry where he completed a General Practice Residency in advanced and hospital-based dentistry. He then pursued and completed his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine affiliated with New England Medical Center. While at Tufts, he also completed advanced training in Intravenous Sedation/General Anesthesia, General Surgery, Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery and Transplant Surgery as well as managing and treating patients in the Surgical and Medical Intensive Care Units. Promoted to chief resident in 2005, his duties included treatment of maxillofacial carcinomas, skeletal and facial malformations and injuries as well as complex bone grafting and dental implant surgery. It was during this time, that Dr. Pollaccia developed a passion for restoring his patient’s ability to speak, chew and smile through specialized advanced jaw reconstruction, bone grafting and dental implants techniques.

After completing his OMFS residency in 2006, Dr. Pollaccia spent 15 years in private practice in the metro Denver region before relocating to sunny Arizona in the fall of 2021. While in Colorado, Dr. Pollaccia opened multiple private practices and spent several years helping to establish the well-known Clear Choice Dental Implant Center. As one of the primary Oral Surgeons in the United States to begin using the All-On-Four full mouth reconstruction treatment model, often referred to as “teeth in a day”, Dr. Pollaccia is responsible for having to help develop and teach many of the techniques commonly used by implant dentist today. Of all his accomplishments, Dr. Pollaccia is most honored to have been recognized multiple times by his peers as being one of Denver’s top Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in 5280 magazine.

Dr. Pollaccia provides the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with particular interest in minor and complex bone grafting, dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, oral pathology and office-based anesthesia. Despite his extensive training he stays on the cutting edge of his specialty by attending conferences, workshops, and maintaining 40+ hours of CE annually. Dr. Pollaccia has given back to his specialty through medical mission trips to Honduras and Mexico as well as providing free care to numerous patients via the Dental Lifeline Network program.

In his free time, he enjoys hiking, biking, trail running and spending time with his family; wife of 25 years Lindsey, and their adult children Kyler, Kade, Kross and ASU sun devil Kaya. Lindsey and Dr. Pollaccia are also very passionate about helping animals, and have funded several animal shelters as well as rescued several off the track Thoroughbreds and retired Draft horses.

Dr. Pollaccia maintains certifications in Intravenous Sedation/General Anesthesia, Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
